Internet Explorer 9: Download The Preview

Internet Explorer 9 LogoJust a quick note this evening letting everyone know that Microsoft is opening up their new Browser IE9 Beta for the public to download.  Feel free to grab a copy here.  The latest version released is 1.9.7916.6000 which was released 8/4/2010.  For more info take a look at the IE9 Platform Preview User Guide or the Tech Preview Test Drive site I mentioned back in March.

Although the preview is a bit limited, you can see a few of the new features.  It’s good to hear that HTML5 is finally coming to IE and that the platform of IE gets a 95 on an Acid 3 test.

With the significant increase of Chrome users, IE 9 needs to hit a homer with its release.  Granted they will always have the market share inside large corps who use Active Directory and need the NTLM Auth and Active X Controls from internal Apps. But as things start going HTML5, then some of that might get lost.  So again “STEVE” you better get this one right.
