How To Disable The Mini Toolbar In Microsoft Word 2010

Disable Auto Appear of Mini Toolbar Word 2010Word 2010 has some groovy new features including the Mini Toolbar.  By default this toolbar will show up whenever you Select a segment of text in your document.  But, it also shows up when you Right-Click anywhere in the document.  Tired of it automatically showing up when you Select text?  No problem, let’s disable that!

To be clear, the Mini Toolbar is the small box that appears in Word during selections and above the Right-Click menu.  It contains commonly used formatting options including font changes, bold, italics, underline, and more.

Done!

Now the mini-toolbar will only show up when you Right-Click somewhere in the document.  I find this much less annoying since I have always used Right-Click to bring it up anyway.

Yeah, but how do you disable the mini tool bar all together when you right click!?! I’m use to it just staying above on the main bar like in Word 2003. It is annoying for me!!

Exactly! That was the reason for coming to this place.

I like the mini toolbar. How do I customize it to include other features like underscore and cross-out?

Yes! Thank you. I despise that mini toolbar — incredibly annoying! Thank you so much.
