How to Delete a Playlist on Spotify

When you want to clean up your music listening experience, you may want to delete a playlist on Spotify.

One of the valuable features of Spotify is the ability to create playlists of favorite tracks from bands and artists. The service allows you to create different types, like shared playlists via Blend, but sometimes you might want to delete a playlist on Spotify.

Luckily, deleting a playlist from your computer or mobile device through the app is straightforward. Like other changes you make to your Spotify library, once you delete a playlist, it will no longer appear on other devices you’re signed into with the same account.

There are different reasons why you might want to delete a playlist. For example, you might have a similar one and want to delete the near duplicate. Or, perhaps you might have too many and want a more manageable experience.

Whatever the reason, we’ll show you how to delete a Playlist on Spotify from your computer, phone, or tablet.

Delete a Playlist from Your Phone

If you want to delete a playlist on Spotify from your iPhone, iPad, or Android device (regardless of version), you can use the Spotify app.

  1. Launch the Spotify app on your phone or tablet.delete a Playlist on Spotify
  2. Tap the Your Library button at the bottom of the screen.spotify your library
  3. Tap the playlist you want to delete and tap the three-dot icon next to the Share button.three-dot button
  4. Select Delete playlist from the menu that appears on the screen.delete playlist on spotify

That’s it. Once you follow these steps and verify the deletion of the selected playlist, it will be removed from the app, but you can recover the playlist within 90 days of deletion. Otherwise, if you want it back, you’ll need to rebuild the playlist over again which some users prefer.

Delete a Playlist from Your Computer

If you are in front of your laptop or desktop computer, you can delete playlists using the Spotify desktop app or the web interface from a browser.

  1. Open the desktop Spotify app, or launch a browser and open the web version of Spotify.
  2. Open the Your Library section of the Spotify experience.
  3. Right-click the playlist you want to remove and select Delete from the context menu that appears.delete playlist spotify computer
  4. Click the Delete button when the verification message appears.verify deletion of playlist

Once you follow the steps and verify the deletion, the playlist you chose will be deleted from Spotify with no option to get it back after 90 days. After that, like on the mobile app, you will need to rebuild it if you want it back.

Deleting Playlist on Spotify

Sometimes, you create playlists that you listen to a couple of times and forget about them. Other times you may create ones that are similar but more streamlined. So, instead of having too many that you don’t use get in your way, deleting playlists on Spotify is useful. Fewer playlists make managing your songs and podcasts easier.

Once you streamline your playlist experience on Spotify, you can focus on listening to the music that matters most without so many extra items to scroll through to find your favorite songs and podcasts.
