How to Create a Tidal Playlist

Plus, you don’t want to hunt for songs individually. Instead, put all your favorite songs into a centralized location in Tidal for easy access and an enjoyable listening experience. Making a playlist on Tidal is similar to creating a Spotify playlist.

No worries about whether you’re on your phone or desktop, as the playlists sync between platforms. So, we’ll show you how to create a playlist on Tidal. You can do it from your phone or the desktop, giving you more control over your music listening experience anywhere.

How to Create a Tidal Playlist on Your Phone

You can quickly create playlists for specific songs or even albums using the following steps.

1. Launch Tidal on your phone or tablet.
2. Tap the search icon at the bottom center of the screen and search for the song you want to add to a playlist.
3. Once you find the song, tap the three-dot button next to the track.
4. Select Add to playlist from the menu that appears.
5. Tap the Create playlist from the menu.
6. Now, you can type in a name for your playlist and a description and set it to be viewed by the public. Once you’re done, tap the Create playlist button.

That’s all there is to it. The playlist will be created with the selected song for easy access when you want it.

Add Songs to Tidal Playlist

Now that you have created your playlist, you will want to add more songs to it using the following steps.

1. Launch Tidal on your phone.
2. Find a song you like and tap the three-dot button next to it.
3. Tap Add to playlist from the menu that appears.
4. Tidal will display a notification at the bottom of the screen. This brief message will let you know the song was successfully added to the playlist.
5. It’s important to note that if you try to add a song you already added, a notification will appear, indicating it’s a duplicate. You can tap to skip the duplicate or add it anyway.
6. Use the same steps to add other songs to your playlists on Tidal from your phone.

Create a Playlist on Tidal from Your Desktop

By following these steps, creating a playlist from your Mac or PC is straightforward using the Tidal web player or the Tidal desktop app.

1. Find or search for the song you want to create a playlist for and click the three-dot button next to the song.
2. Navigate to Add to playlist > Create new playlist from the menu that appears.
3. Type in a title for your playlist and optional description, toggle on the switch to make it public, and click the Create new button when ready.
4. Once you click to create the playlist, Tidal will display a brief message letting you know it was successfully created.
5. If you want to add songs to the playlist, click the three-dot button next to a track.
6. Select Add to playlist and click the playlist you created or another one you want to add the song to.
7. Like the mobile app, Tidal will alert you if you try to add a duplicate song to a playlist. You can choose to skip it or add the track anyway.

It’s important to mention that when creating playlists from your desktop, you can change the song order by dragging and dropping tracks to change their order. Since you have more control over the songs on the desktop, it makes managing them easier.

Accessing Your Playlists on Tidal

You’ll want to access your playlists whether you create and organize your playlist from the desktop or your phone. Here’s how to do it on desktop or mobile.

1. Launch Tidal on your phone or tablet.
2. Tap your profile icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
3. Tap the Playlists option from the menu that appears on the screen.
4. Scroll through and find the playlist you want. You can even search for your favorite from the bar at the top of the screen.
5. Tap the three-dot button next to the playlist you want to manage, and the menu screen will appear. You will have options to move the playlist folder, download it, edit the name, make it public, delete it, and other options.

Access Your Playlists from Your Desktop

1. Launch the Tidal app or open the web player in a browser.
2. Click Playlists from the column on the left.
3. Then, on the right side, you can scroll through your playlists or search for specific ones from the search field at the top of the screen.
