If you’re a Windows Phone 8.1 user and a huge sports fan as well, you’ll be happy to know that the sports authority, ESPN, now has its WatchESPN app available to use now.

It allows you to watch live games, studio shows, and access ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, ESPNU, ESPNEWS – you can also watch on-demand clips to see the latest sports highlights. You will need to log in with your cable provider username and password to use it.

WatchESPN App

Access to the streaming video is available in the US only and might not include your cable provider. Most of the big guys like AT&T Universe, Comcast, and COX are said to work with it. I live out in the sticks in rural MN and I didn’t see my local guys logo listed, but if you tap More Providers, it brings up a list of several other providers.

It’s also worth mentioning that WatchESPN is also available computers and other devices that are running Windows 8.1 from the Windows Store.

I just downloaded the app so I could get this news out to you. I will start playing around with it over the next few days and provide more details.

If you’re using it on your Windows Phone 8.1, leave a comment below and tell us about your experience!

My windows 8 phone does not find this app in the store.
Here is what I found on on the WatchEspn website.

“What are the compatible mobile and tablet devices?
WatchESPN is available for use on the following mobile devices: Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, iPad Mini (must have OS 4.0 or later) and Android Mobile and tablet devices, including the Kindle Fire (running version 2.3.3 and above).”
