How to Remove Contacts from Favorites on iPhone

You can manage your contacts on your iPhone, and one ability is to add contacts to your Favorites list. But what if you no longer need a contact or want to remove one from your Favorites list?

For example, you might need to remove a contact from Favorites without deleting it from your iPhone. The good news is that you can do that. So, if you have duplicate contacts on your Favorites list or need to clean your list up, you can.

We’ll show you how to edit your favorite contacts on your iPhone by removing them from the list but keeping them in your contacts by not deleting them.

How to Remove Contacts from Favorites on iPhone

You can easily remove contacts from your Favorites list on your iPhone by using the following steps.

1. Launch the Phone app on your iPhone.
2. Select the Favorites icon at the bottom toolbar on the screen.
3. Locate the contact on your list and swipe it to the left until options appear.
4. To remove it, tap the Delete. Note that you can also swipe the contact all the way to the left until it disappears from the list.

Remove Contacts from Favorites on iPhone Using Edit

While swiping to remove individual contacts is easy enough, you may have a long list to clean up. For that, you can use the Edit option by following these steps.

1. Launch the Phone app on your iPhone.
2. Tap Favorites from the bottom toolbar on the screen.
3. Tap the Edit option in the top left corner above the Favorites section.
4. Tap the red minus icon next to the contact you want to remove from Favorites.
5. Tap the Delete button that appears to the right of the contact on your list.
6. After you are finished removing contacts from the Favorites list, tap the Done button in the top left corner.

That’s all there is to it. Again, remember that when you delete a contact from Favorites, you aren’t removing them from your contacts list.

Removing Contacts from Favorites on iPhone

Having the contacts you call or text the most in a centralized list in the Favorites section is helpful in many situations. However, if you have too many contacts in Favorites, your list can get out of hand.

For example, you might no longer need a contact at the ready or have duplicates on your list. But whatever the reason, removing contacts from Favorites without deleting them from your contact list is straightforward using the above steps.
