I simply love this and had to share it with everyone. Do you ever miss the sound of a genuine typewriter in your office, now that laptop keyboards are much quieter? Then, how about a real typewriter. One that works with your computer or tablet as a USB keyboard? Yup, it’s possible.
One of the reasons why I have a tendency to use big keyboards is the noise they make. It simply doesn’t feel like typing if it’s too silent and the keys so sensitive. This is just the product if you’re looking for the ultimate old-school typing feeling.
The USB typewriter has a huge compatibility list. It works with any Windows PC, Mac or Linux computer, any tablet with a USB host, plus quite a few other devices (including Motorola Xoom or Samsung Galaxy SII – and perhaps the Galaxy SIII). It doesn’t require you to install software, as it’s just a regular USB keyboard.
Amazon Sells the USB Typewriter however for a larger variety of models, head over to etsy.com. All of them look great granted a little on the expensive side (between $699 and $799 MSRP). You can also get a kit and convert your own typewriter into a USB keyboard for a few less bucks. The kit is just $74. Considering the price difference, the word duct-tape and glue was used so I’ll probably just stick to the made-in-china version….
