As you are probably aware, Amazon offers the convenience of a 1-Click purchase feature, which saves steps while buying items from the retail giant. However, you might want to disable 1-Click Ordering on Amazon to prevent accidental or impulse purchases.

We’ll show you how to disable it from your phone, tablet, or desktop. And the cool thing is when you follow the steps; it will disable 1-click ordering on Amazon everywhere you sign in with your account. You can disable the feature whether you have a Prime membership or not.

1. Launch a browser on your desktop, head to Amazon’s Personal Preferences page, and sign in if you aren’t already.
2. Click the Disable 1-Click everywhere link.
3. Amazon will disable 1-Click ordering everywhere you sign in with your Amazon account and display a confirmation message.
4. It’s important to note that if you want to reenable 1-Click in the future, you must do it on a per-device basis from the same section.

Disable 1-Click Ordering on Amazon from Your Phone

Disabling Amazon’s 1-Click Ordering on your phone or tablet is also straightforward, provided you know where to tap.

1. Launch the Amazon app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device.
2. Tap your profile icon at the bottom of the screen.
3. At the top of the screen, tap Your Account.
4. Swipe down the screen and tap 1-Click settings from the menu.
5. Under the Your purchase preferences section, tap the Disable 1-Click everywhere link.
6. Like the desktop version, you will receive a verification message letting you know 1-Click purchasing has been disabled.

Disabling 1-Click Purchasing on Amazon

It’s important to emphasize that while you can easily disable 1-Click Ordering everywhere from your phone or the desktop, the same isn’t valid for turning it back on. Instead, you will need to go into the same settings and turn it back on for each device you want it on.

Still, this is an excellent solution to prevent unwanted, impulse, or accidental purchases from Amazon. Then, you can turn it on only for the devices you need it most.
