How to Block Explicit Content on Pandora

Logging into Pandora from a Web Browser allows you to disable explicit content. Here’s where to find it and how to remove explicit content from your music.

I’m a Huge fan of the Pandora music streaming service. Recently however while listening to music with my children, a very explicit song played and I ended up scrambling for my phone to change songs. I figured this might be a handy tip to our groovyReaders so here’s the quick write-up on how to disable explicit language / music content on Pandora.

Disable Explicit Content in Pandora

First, login to Pandora from a Web Browser and click the down arrow on the top right to access account settings.

From the Account tab, click the radio button: No. Do not allow explicit content.

And that’s all there is to it! You’re done. Pretty simple and straight forward if you know the option exists.

Optionally you can also set a recovery pin and email address however this is fairly redundant since you can just re-enable explicit content via settings in the future if needed.

You’re welcome Val — Honestly, I didn’t know it existed until I had a need to find it.

Also, I just got a new iPhone so I’ll be writing up a bunch more of iPhone/iOS stuff in the coming weeks.

      Thnx for the feedback.

I have the explicit filter engaged for myself as well as my kids’ benefit. However, even with that, I just had to do the mad scramble because the album cover art was pornographic to the extreme on a station that was meant to be my kids’ dance station. Anyone got any ideas on how to opt out of seeing cover art?

Yes!!!! It’s true. I have it so no explicit music plays but it still does it. I even opened a mew acct and it’s still the same.
