Yes, you can stream media – photos and music — from your Android or iOS device to your Roku to enjoy on your HDTV. A lot of people will be getting a Roku over the holiday season, and might not be aware of this groovy feature.
All you need to do is download the free Roku App for Android or iOS. All devices need to be on the same network, and the video or music stored locally on the device.
Stream Media from Android or iOS to Roku
After downloading the app, sign into your Roku account and select the Roku box on your network.
Then tap Play on Roku and select the photos or music you want to stream to your TV. Then you can control the playback from your device.
The Roku app also gives you easy access to your channels and Roku Store. It also has a nice remote control and keyboard when typing is required.
If you have a Roku hooked up to your home theater system, I recommend getting the Roku app to get the most out of it. For more, check out our other Roku tips and tricks.

That sounds awesome, but what If I use Rhapsody as my music player? There is no ROKU app for Rhapsody currently, but I don’t want to have to switch to MOG and lose all my history.
