How to Add Multiple Google Accounts on Android

If you have more than one Google account you can add multiple Google accounts on Android phones or tablets. Here’s how to do it.

If you have multiple Google accounts, you can add them all to your Android phone or tablet. For example, you might have one for work and a personal one, and you can add multiple Google accounts on Android devices.

Since Google is so tightly incorporated into the Android experience, adding another account is a straightforward process. Since you likely used one Google account to set up your device, adding another is a breeze.

When you have multiple accounts, you can quickly move between them. So, in this guide, we’ll show you the steps for adding a second, third, or fourth Google account to your Android device.

Add Multiple Google Accounts on Android Devices

As we mentioned, you already have one account incorporated with your phone or tablet when you set it up. So, you just need to add a second account.

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen once or twice (depending on the manufacturer) and select Settings (gear icon).
2. Swipe down the menu and tap Google.
3. Select the Manage your Google Account button under your name.
4. Tap the dropdown menu next to your current email address and select Add another account from the menu that appears.
5. Type in the email address for your Google account or tap the Create account link to make a new one, then tap Next.
6. Enter the password for the account and tap Next.
7. Google will ask you to add your phone number. Scroll down the explanation page and tap the Yes, I’m in button to add it, or tap Skip if you don’t want to add your phone number. Note that you can always add it later.
8. Tap the I agree button after reading Google’s terms of service.
9. With multiple accounts, you’ll want to be sure you’re using the right one. For example, you might want to open Gmail to see which messages arrived in another account. Tap your profile button in the top right corner and select the appropriate account from the menu that appears.
10. If you want to remove an account, head to Settings > Google, tap the account menu and select Manage accounts on this device.
11. Select the account you want to remove from your device and tap the Remove account button.

Adding Multiple Google Accounts on Android

Once you follow the above steps, the Google account will be added to your phone or tablet. You can follow the steps to add however many accounts you want. One thing to keep in mind while using multiple accounts is that you’ll want to ensure that you select the appropriate one.

For instance, you might wonder why certain emails aren’t in your Gmail box. Tap the profile icon to switch to the appropriate account, and you’ll be good to go.

When you add multiple accounts, you will be able to access them throughout your installed Google apps experience on your device. Again, just make sure to choose the right one if you add several.
