One of the new features of The New iPad, is the ability to use your voice to type instead of the onscreen keyboard. But if you’re restoring from a previous backup, this new feature won’t be enabled by default. Here’s how to enable it manually.
First go to Settings>>General and tap on Keyboard.
Tap Dictation to enable the feature.
Now whenever the keyboard shows up on the new iPad, you’ll also have the option to dictate what you want typed. Simply tap the microphone key and say what you want to type. When finished, tap the microphone again and your text will show up on the screen.
As you can see, words which the iPad isn’t 100% sure about will be underlined in blue and suggest an alternative when tapped on.
