Have you ever sent an email only to say “NO NO NO” 1 second after you sent it realizing you had forgotten to take someone out of the TO or CC line?  Or perhaps you wrote a flaming email to someone just to get it off your chest and after you hit the send button that voice pops up in your head and says “Are you serious, you actually sent that!  Undo!!!!”.

GMAIL has the answer for those “Moments”.  This morning I noticed Google Labs recently released a new Plug-in called “Undo Send” which allows you to configure in 5 second increments (up to 10) an “Undo” button after sending an email.  It’s very easy to install so if your a GMAIL user, I recommend taking the 15 seconds it takes to implement it and add a little peace of mind to your email experience.

Add Undo Send Option to GMAIL Account

1.   Inside GMAIL, Click Settings, Labs

GMAIL Settings and Labs Page

2.   Scroll down on Labs page and Click Enable for Undo Send.  To save, Scroll down and Click Save Changes

Gmail - Enable Undo Send Labs Feature   GMAIL Save Changes Option

Now it’s time to configure the “Undo” or “Cancellation Period”

3.   Click Settings, under General Tab Click Down Arrow for Undo Send option and Select Cancellation Period.  Scroll to bottom of page and Click Save Changes

Undo Send Gmail Options setting Send Cancellation Period down arrow  GMAIL Save Changes Option

All done!

Next time you send an email you will receive the option to Undo the Sent Email for the time period specified in Step 3.  VERY GROOVY indeed!
