Microsoft Demonstrates Windows 8.1 Start Button in Video



Microsoft posted a video earlier this week that shows off new features in Windows 8.1, but the Start button wasn’t addressed. In this video from Computex, you can see it in action.
Earlier this week, Microsoft posted a video that demonstrates new features in Windows 8.1. If you look closely at that video, you can see the new Start button, but they didn’t show it in action. In this video from Computex, the company shows us the Start button’s function. Basically, it switches you between the Desktop and Start screen – no, the Start Menu isn’t coming back.
Whether this move will be enough to appeal to those critical of the Windows 8 modern UI remains to be seen. The Preview Edition of Windows 8.1 will be available on June 26th during the Microsoft Build Developer’s conference.
