Marvel’s Black Widow to Launch in Theaters and Disney Plus on July 9th

Disney announced Marvel’s Black Widow film will premiere in theaters and on Disney Plus on July 9th. More MCU movie dates were announced, too.

Disney today announced an upcoming slate of new films and new release dates. Most notably is Marvel’s Black Widow which has been delayed since last year due to covid issues. It was originally going to hit theaters on May 7th but that has changed. The long-awaited Black Widow MCU film will have a day and date release on July 9th.

That means the film will premiere both in theaters and also stream exclusively on Disney Plus the same day. The film will be under the Disney Plus Premier Access windows and available for a $30 rental fee.

Disney says:

“Today’s announcement reflects our focus on providing consumer choice and serving the evolving preferences of audiences. By leveraging a flexible distribution strategy in a dynamic marketplace that is beginning to recover from the global pandemic, we will continue to employ the best options to deliver The Walt Disney Company’s unparalleled storytelling to fans and families around the world,” said Kareem Daniel, Chairman, Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution.”
