How to Use TikTok Resumes to Apply for a Job

If you’re struggling for an edge over other job applicants, try something new. Create a video to apply with TikTok Resumes.

TikTok has become one of the most popular places to create and enjoy videos. From your friend becoming a rising star to celebrities hanging out on the weekend, you’ll find everything on TikTok. So, it’s no surprise that the platform is expanding its channels to business.

The pilot program TikTok Resumes gives video creators a chance to land a new career. Companies like Target, Chipotle, and Shopify are inviting applicants to apply for jobs using video resumes. Rather than a cold piece of paper, you can let your personality and professionalism shine.

Short, creative videos, combined with TikTok’s easy-to-use, built-in creation tools have organically created new ways to discover talented candidates and career opportunities.

Available Positions

You can head to the TikTok Resumes website to see the jobs available. Click Jobs at the top and then browse positions or filter the results by location, experience, or brand. Click Learn More for details about the job.

If you want to apply, create your TikTok video resume, post it in the app, and then grab its link (below).

Create Your TikTok Video Resume

Open TikTok on your Android device or iPhone and hit the plus sign to create your video. What you say and how you present yourself is up to you! But if you’re interested, you can get some tips from creators on the TikTok Resumes website or in the app’s channel (#TikTokResumes).

After you capture your video and edit it to perfection, make sure to include #TikTokResumes in the caption. You’ll also want to allow everybody to view your video. Tap Who can watch this video and select Everyone.

Then post your video!

If you found a specific job on the TikTok Resumes site you want to apply for, get the link to your video resume. On the right side of your video, tap the three dots and then tap Copy link.

Go to the job posting on the website and click Next at the bottom. Then enter your contact information, paste your video link, and hit Submit. Note that you can also include a link to your LinkedIn profile if you like.

Each company has its own process for reviewing and contacting applicants. Some may contact applicants for an interview, while others may request another step.
