Chrome 8 Has A Groovy Built-in PDF Reader

Google Chrome PDF ViewerOn Thursday the Google Chrome team rolled out a new feature for Chrome 8 Beta, a PDF viewer.  Say goodbye to adobe reader and other PDF plugins, Chrome is taking over.  If you’re running the latest beta version of Chrome you can already test it out and view PDF files without any extra plugins.

The Chrome PDF viewer is clean, minimalistic, and smoking fast.  I like it, a lot.  Below is screenshot of what it looks like viewing the IRS W-4 tax form.

Don’t have the beta edition of Chrome? Pick it up from the Chrome beta channel.  Don’t forget that if you’ve ever installed the beta it will automatically update to the latest version, you don’t have to repeatedly upgrade unlike some other browser.

Agreed! I hated “quick view” and I’m glad to see that there is a better way.
