How To Set a Location-Based Reminder with Google Now

Google Now for Android has integrated a groovy new feature, which allows you to create location-based reminders, and it’s easy to do. Here’s how to set one.
If you want an easy way to set a location and time-based reminder, Google Now makes it easy. You can either use your voice or manually type in the reminders you set.
Set a Google Now Reminder on Android
Start Google Now by long-pressing the home button on your screen and then you can do one of two things: say “Google. Set reminder” or manually type: set reminder — you can also use “remind me” instead.
You can also set a time-based reminder. For the location-based one, though, click the pinpoint icon on the top right side of the screen. It will show the menu below. Type in what you want to be reminded of, then pick the location. Conveniently, you can tap to add your home or work locations, but you can search for any location you want.
That’s it! You’ll get your reminder when you reach your location. However, the reminder won’t be there forever. Go to Settings > My Stuff > Reminders in the Google Now app to delete a reminder.
Removing reminders is just as easy as adding them. You just tap one and verify you want it deleted.

Google Now??? Google Now thinks I live in Glastonbury, CT. I haven’t been in Glastonbury, CT in about 6 years. I live 45 miles away. I cannot find out why it does this or anyone who can help me with a setting. I’ve spoken to Verizon tech support and Motorola tech support….I’ve even been “escalated”! No one knows why it does what it does and no one can fix it!

Are you on your WIFI? Sometimes my laptop thinks I’m in London ( I live in Devon!) Might be why, just a thought.

Yes, I’m on WiFi but I can’t imagine why that would effect my location. Why is it always Glastonbury and not Phoenix or Shanghai?? I just received the 7th response from a Motorola tech. They’ve given up!
As to the above instructions about location based reminders, when I type “set reminder”, the search goes on and on with no response…
A lousy app to say the least!

Wifi addresses can vary by carrier, and can change regularly. Google detects me in all the different areas of my metro area, although I always long in from the central city. It will one day improve.
