How to Cancel Your Spotify Subscription

If you need to cancel your Spotify Premium subscription and move to the free tier, here’s how.

Spotify is one of the most popular streaming services that offers thousands of albums and songs. However, there might be a time when you want to cancel your Spotify subscription.

Maybe you want to move to a different service. Or, perhaps you don’t use your paid subscription enough to justify the monthly charge. Whatever the reason you wish to cancel, we’ll show you how to do it in this guide.

Cancel Your Spotify Subscription

Canceling your Spotify premium subscription isn’t quite as straightforward as it was in the past. However, we’ll show you how to do it in this guide.

To cancel your subscription, you first need to open a browser on your computer and head to this link: https://www.spotify.com/us/account/overview/. Sign into your account if you’re not already, and once signed in, use the following steps to cancel.

  1. Scroll down the page and select Available plans under the Subscription section of the menu.available plans
  2. Continue down the screen to the Spotify Free section and click the Cancel Plan button.cancel

  4. Again, Spotify will list the other plans available from the service you can subscribe to. Scroll down the page of offers and click the Continue to cancel button.Continue to cancel button
  5. On the final verification message page, you will see your premium plan will change to the free account on a specific date after your premium subscription ends. Click the Yes, cancel button.Yes cancel verification
  6. Once your Spotify subscription is canceled, the service will ask you to complete a questionnaire about why you’re ending the subscription.poll for reason to end subscription

You have now canceled your subscription. A date showing when your premium subscription ends will appear on the site. You will also get a form that will ask you for the reason you are canceling. After giving a reason for cancellation, click the Submit button.

It’s also important to note that you don’t have to complete the questionnaire. You can scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Skip button. Once you cancel, Spotify will send you a verification email.

Canceling Your Spotify Subscription

That’s all there is to it. You are now canceled from your Spotify Premium subscription. You can still use the premium features until the date given, which is one day before the next billing date. So, canceling your subscription right after your billing date makes the most sense.

That way, you can continue using the premium features for 30 days until the subscription expires.
