Gina Smith

Based in Seattle, Gina Smith is a New York Times best-selling author and award-winning veteran journalist online, in print, on radio, and on national television.

Gina is currently a Research Director at IDC and previously held positions as Research Director/CCO at Singularity Studio, Advisor to HTC's CEO, Editor-in-Chief for InformationWeek | Byte, and more. In addition to writing for groovyPost, she was a columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle and editor-in-chief at aNewDomain, HTC, Byte, and InformationWeek.

Gina is the author of notable books, including iWoz: Computer Geek to Cult Icon, The Genetic Age: How DNA Technology is Transforming the Way We Live and Who We Are, co-author of How I Learned to Cook, and other books.

Gina is a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Saybrook University. She also holds a BA and BS in English and chemistry from Florida State University.
