Add Photos Directly from a Windows PC to Your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch

With Apple’s introduction of iCloud, sharing photo’s between devices couldn’t be easier. If you don’t have iCloud set up or an Internet connection, you can transfer photos directly to your device via iTunes. Here’s how.

First connect your device to your PC with the docking cable.

Connect iPod to PC

Next, launch iTunes and select your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch under devices. At the top click Photos. Check Sync Photos from Choose Folder. Also check Selected Folders.

Note: If you select My Pictures and All Folders, then everything will transfer over. I just want specific photos.

Under Folders, check the one with the photos you want to transfer to your device. Here I created a folder specifically for pictures I want on my iPad. Click Apply.
iTunes Folders

Your pictures sync over to your device. The amount of time it takes will vary depending on the number of photos and their size.

Transfer Progress iTunes

After the sync process completes, eject your device from iTunes.

Sync Photos

That’s it. Disconnect your device from your PC and enjoy your pictures on your iOS device.

I have no photo tab anywhere on the iTunes. Do I have to join the ITunes store or something first? I have the latest version of iTunes and am running windows 7. All I have under my iPhone menu is movies, tv shows, books, audio books and tones.
