If you’re a regular groovyReader, you probably woke up this morning and noticed something is quite different about the site!

As you know, we’re not ones to stand still very long here at groovyPost so after about 6 months of me not being 100 percent happy with our site design, I decided it was time for a change!

As I started working on the new look-and-feel, I had several primary goals in mind for the new look:

  1. First and foremost, I wanted as few distractions as possible around our content. I wanted the content from each groovyPost to POP!
  2. I wanted the site to remain super clean and simple to navigate.
  3. I wanted to brighten up the site a bit using lighter colors vs. the dark themes we’ve been using in the past.

Overall, I’m happy with how things turned out. I love how bright the site turned out and how much easier it is to read our groovyPosts!

Well enough about what I think. What do all of you think?  Love it?  Hate it? Leave a comment below and let us know.

Great design….clean, simple and good looking….good job

    • Steve Krause

Thanks Hammad — One of my main goals like I said was to simplify the design and clean up the site a little making it even easier to navigate. Hopefully that’s what I did vs. the opposite!

  4. Adam

Wow… way… way better in my opinion. Two groovy thumbs up. nice job groovy!

    • Steve Krause

Thnx for the feedback @Adam. Will be tweaking it here and there over the coming days but yeah… it’s a good round 1 I think!

  5. Jack

Ahh… It’s like a mint julep on a hot summer day. Refreshing.

  6. Ziggy

Refreshingly juicy just like a sweet lemon soda-pop! Most important, though, are the excellent articles, regardless of the changes that have been made. That’s what brings me to this site daily.

One issue, if I may, is the glaring white background! It’s a killer on my aging eyes. I feel as though I’ve been struck by a solar glare. Oh well, looks like I’ll have to bring out the old 1950’s sunnies and add some sun cream while I’m at it.

Keep up the excellent work. This site is a gem…Now, where’s the move forward arrow? Honey, bring out the eyedrops, will ya…

At night, I agree with you. We need a NIGHT MODE button that switches it to dark for our nocturnal readers. I’ll see what I can do ;)

Lighter color feels lighter weight. Bright, clean, fast-lane approved.

  15. Jamie Cheslo

I like the fresh, clean feel to the new look of the website. Very easy to navigate. Well done!

Daily I read few of the post which is useful for me. As a end user prespective i have some points
    1. Border color – Little bit thickness is needed on each section
    2. Background color is too light.
    3. I observe that big section is provided for advertisement, but you can reduce the size of that little bit so that it can fit perfectly with the body of main page.
    4. I see both side a blank vertical area, You can broaden body area little bit so that blank space can be reduced.

Rest all are too good.. keep going

All these points is just a suggestion from a tester and as a user as well, I do web application testing in my company :-) so i felt like putting my points . Thanks and appreciate the change.

    • Austin Krause
