CrashPlan Online Backup Service Black Friday Deal

CrashPlan is our favorite cloud-based backup solution and having an off-site backup is a critical cornerstone in your overall backup strategy. Tomorrow, CrashPlan is having a huge Black Friday sale for both Individual and Family Unlimited subscriptions. Here’s how it works.

Head to the CrashPlan plan deal page when the sale starts Friday at 6 am CST and the discount will be 100%…yes, you read that correctly 100%! The Unlimited plan is free for an entire year. Then every two hours after that, the discount will gradually decrease until it reaches 42% at 2 pm CST on Monday, November 26th. So the earlier you purchase your subscription, the more you save – so you’ll want to grab it early on Friday.

Even if you miss the 100% discount window or longer discount times – the service is still essentially half off through the entire weekend.

The feature I like is it will back up external drives as well as your main internal one. With other services, that isn’t an option, and you have to resort to a funky workaround. The Unlimited CrashPlan subscription provides easy to use and secure backups. Here’s a look at some of the features:

  • Unlimited Online Storage
  • Real-Time Data Backup, Multiple Backup Sets, Onsite and Offsite Data Backup, Incremental and Differential Backups.
  • Web Restore Data Recovery
  • Guaranteed Restore
  • 448-bit File Encryption
  • An Ad Free User Interface and A lot More…

Plus there’re CrashPlan apps for Android and Apple iOS so you can access and manage your data from virtually anywhere while on the go.

The regular price for an Individual Unlimited plan is $60 and $144 for Family Unlimited. So the savings are huge for this must have service. Having an off-site cloud-based backup service is a vital piece to your overall data backup strategy. Oh, did I mention it’s cross-platform? It works on Windows, Mac and Linux – even Solaris.

Backing up data is the most important thing you can do as a computer owner. Really… It’s not an option. Unfortunately, it’s commonly forgotten as most assume they will never lose a drive to theft, malfunction of fire. That is until it’s too late. From our experience here at groovyPost, CrashPlan is the easiest and most feature-rich online backup service we’ve ever used for both home and business. In fact, I used it recently when I switched my production computer to Windows 8, and it made my migration super easy.

This is a perfect opportunity to get a “set it and forget it” backup solution for your computer for on the cheap!

gah…. just tried to renew my account but the black friday deal was yes… only for new customers.

I still signed up a few of my family members but no joy for existing customers.

Yeah, according to the FAQ on the deal, you have to be setting up a new account. Not good on existing customer’s looking to renew. But such a good deal for those who don’t have it.
