What is your Kindle Fire Ship Date?

amazon kindle

Update: Just got an email, Amazon just shipped my Kindle Fire and adjusted the deliver date to 11/16. Bonus!

Sure, I own four iPhones, an iPod Touch and an iPad however, I’ve never been this excited for a new gadget in a very long time. We’ve been talking extensively about the Kindle Fire and this week its shipping to customers!

As you can see from the screenshot I just took, mine is scheduled to arrive on 11/17. What about you?

Let’s start a discussion today. Did you buy the new Amazon Tablet? Why or why not? When is it arriving? Do you want groovyPost to cover it in depth over the next few weeks?

I’ll meet you in the comments!

11/17 is mine. I have the original Kindle and an iphone. This is my first android device but I will probably just read and surf on it. My iPhone is a corp. phone so this will be all things personal.

And you can’t argue with the price point for a personal device like this one. Good plan.

Nah. I didn’t buy one mainly because because I already have an iPad (1st Gen) and I’m actually quite happy with it. I have my Kinda App and all the games installed on it and I’m happy. glad to see your happy with your new one.Pulled up a day – that’s cool!

I love my iPad and practically speaking, I agree. I don’t really need a Kindle but I really WANT a Kindle. 😉

It would be nice if game publishers would allow you to install its games on all platforms but I’m sure that would defeat the purpose of being in business….. making money. 😉

I get mine today! I have been a dedicated Apple freak for years (just ask Steve) but the Kindle Fire seems to be the one iPad alternative that I will like and see as a good competitor.

Aye Nathan…. You just had to mention you got your Fire today didn’t you……

You will have to write a few blips here on gP doing a real-world usage comparison between the 2 tablets. I know you’re a kindle man at heart. Are you bummed they didn’t include eInk in the platform?

I was supposed to get mine tomorrow, but about 10pm last night I received an email saying that Amazon had shipped it. So this morning at 11am I received my wife’s Fire and it is pretty cool.

I am totally impressed by the Kindle Fire. I have used an iPad 2 and really liked it, but I almost like the Fire better, because of it’s size and the price.

I have an iPad but I’ve been waiting on real ppl to review the fire before I decide on it vs. the iPad 2.

@ian thnx for the feedback. How heavy is it vs. the iPad? Fit in a pocket?

Also does anyone know of a good case for the kindle fire? I think that will a big difference also. I don’t want an ugly plastic film case. I want something classy.

I have an iPad, but I’ve been an Amazon Prime member for some time, and the Fire has some perks for Prime members, so I took the plunge and bought one. It arrived 11/16. It doesn’t replace my iPad, which I use as a mini-computer at work and when I travel. But the size is great, and it’s simple to get started.

Yeah I’ll agree with you on that one. I’m still working on my “review” however it’s not an iPad replacement for me either. A good tool for my Amazon Prime account and Amazon service but I’m still figuring out the when/how I will use it.
