Everyone loves Google Voice, but what’s better than using it from your computer? Using it on your phone of course! iPhone users are still stuck using the HTML5 browser version, but on Android you can download the full app that works as a virtual phone on your phone!

Earlier, I gave a rather ebullient guided tour of Windows Live Sync Beta 2011 (which will be known as Windows Live Mesh when it is officially released), touting its groovy potential as a backup tool and cloud storage solution. But since that brief honeymoon phase, I’ve had a chance to move in some of my stuff and I’ll have to admit that I’m having trouble getting comfortable. It seems that much of the pampering I’ve received from old faithful Dropbox has given me some pretty high expectations when it comes to cloud-based syncing and in spite of my optimistic review, I think I’m going to have to stick with Dropbox—for now. Like many of you groovySystem Admins out there, I never like to introduce a new product to the corporate environment until the release of a major Service Pack. I guess that’s why I’m pretty excited to see that Microsoft just released Exchange 2010 SP1 a few days ago. It’s going to be a longgg weekend for me now!

For the true Google purist who uses both Google Voice and Google Chrome, the new Google Voice extension for Google Chrome is just for you. The Google Voice extension won’t revolutionize the way you use Google Voice, but it does have a few groovy features that make life a little bit easier. The way I see it, it’s a bit like Gmail Notifier—but for Voice.

Things are getting mighty cloudy over at Microsoft—and the addition of Sync to the Windows Live Essentials suite is making life in the clouds easier than ever. The latest version of Windows Live Sync is seriously upping the ante in the world of automated folder syncing and cloud storage. At first glance, it seems that the frontiers pioneered by the likes of Dropbox and Google Docs just might be tamed, civilized and finally be made accessible and intuitive for the masses by Microsoft. Hey, did you know that you can link applications to Dropbox? I didn’t. Partially because there’s not a peep on-site about the capability until you add an application to your Dropbox account. And partially because I never thought Dropbox needed any add-ons to attain killer status. But the makers of AirDropper did. That’s why they’ve recently rolled out a beta of their handy dandy file request web app.

The whole point in having a Dropbox is so you can access all of your data from any device, and have it fully backed up. So why not use Dropbox from your iOS device that set you several hundred $’s back? Yes, there is even an app for that and it is free! Groovy…
