Windows 10 Tip: Move or Delete Items in Action Center

Windows 10 Anniversary Update has several new features. One of which is the ability to change Action Center features. One of those features is the ability to manage Quick Action Buttons.

Those are the buttons at the lower section of Action Center. Here’s how to add, remove, or re-organize them.

Note that some of these tiles might be grayed out or not present on some systems. For instance, Battery Saver is disabled while your laptop is plugged in, but when unplugged you can use it. Or, on my tower desktop in my home office, Tablet mode isn’t an option (because I have dual-monitors) and Battery Saver is also not there since it doesn’t use a battery.

Start by Settings > System > Notifications & Actions and select Add or remove quick actions.

Now on the next screen turn the buttons you want on or off.

Then to rearrange the buttons you can drag and drop them to where you would rather have them reside.

Nice! But does anyone know how to remove “dead” notifications from long past uninstalled programs? I know of a few reg tweaks but, unfortunately, they can cause some unwanted consequences!
