Want a free 1-year Ad-Aware Pro license?

Ad-Aware is one of the most popular antimalware solutions at the moment. The cost of a 1-year license is $ 29.95 but, if you move fast, you can get it free for a short limited time.  Simply click here to go to cnet.com, sign up with the website and get your free license. After you sign-up you will be taken to a page where you can download the software installation kit and you will also be given a serial number.

The catch?  The deal is only valid for the next 24 hours so you need to act fast if you want a copy.

The Pro version features antivirus and spyware protection, shopping, banking and download security, as well as priority updates and free support.  I’ve not personally done a detailed review of Ad-Aware so I don’t know how it stacks up against our favorite free AV software, .  If anyone has feedback, comments drop a note below.

Again, the offer ends 12/28/2010 at 6 AM PST.

I’m using windows defender. Should I get this? What’s the difference?

Some say when you buy software, your getting software from a company who is able to invest in their technology and provide a better product than free software like MSE and Windows Defender. You know the saying “You get what you pay for” so if you get something for free… your mileage may vary…

My suggestion is to grab a free copy and try it out using a bogus or temporary email address (see this article: http://gpo.st/rt). If you like the software and you feel it adds value great. If not, just remove it using one of the apps listed here: http://gpo.st/ru

      Enjoy!
