The Hotfix Scan Tool is a Visual Basic script file (HotfixScanTool.vbs). You can use this tool to scan for hotfixes that will potentially regress after you install Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2). This tool can be run before or after installing Windows Server 2003 SP2. Knowledge Base Article 931940 gives instructions on how to find updated packages for the hotfixes that are identified by the Hotfix Scan Tool.

One thing to note, this is NOT Windows Server 2003 R2. Windows Server 2003 SP2 is an udpate for both Windows Server 2003 / SP1 AND Windows Server 2003 R2.

So, if your running Win2k3 or Win2k3 R2, you need to install this new service pack.
