Apple Announces Details on Next iPhone 3G S
Jun 8th, 2009 by MrGroove

The new Apple iPhone 3G S will be available from AT&T 2 days after the iPhone OS 3.0 is released on June 17th. The price as shown on the Apple site will be $199 for the 16GB Phone and $299 for the 32GB for new AT&T customers only. If your an existing customer and your not at the end of your 2 year contract… tough luck. And yes… they are now bumping up the drives to 32 Gigs…
The new iPhone 3G S has a bunch of new features as shown by the screenshot on the right including the main ones they highlight on the apple site:
- Better performance
- Camera is upgraded from 2 Megapixel to 3 Megapixel
- Camera does video now
- Voice Control
- Compass (lame) however it appears to have a play with Mapping Apps.
- Internet Tethering (but…)
Although all look groovy and cool, none of the features really grab me (however video is probably the coolest feature…). One thing however did grab me. TETHERING is still NOT supported in the US!
I mean really? Are you kidding me? COME ON AT&T PLEASE get your act together here! I have an unlimited 3G plan but I still can’t TETHER my phone iPhone legally? Not groovy at all…
